Early Talk
Early Talk is aimed at early years/pre-school practitioners and was created by Speech and Language UK, delivered by a licensed tutor typically as a half day inset day. The objective is to increase practitioner knowledge of the approaches and strategies that can be used in settings to support the development
of speech, language, and communication skills in children. The course focuses on increasing participants knowledge of typical communication and language development, developing practitioners’ strategies and interaction styles. The training materials and resource toolkits are purchased from Speech and
Language UK. They cost £20 per participant book and £85 per toolkit.

Verbo
Verbo is an online platform that provides schools with speech and language support and teaching strategies that promote high-quality teaching for all. Verbo aims to support children who have challenges with their communication skills in a range of areas, such as:
- attention and listening
- receptive language (understanding of language)
- expressive language and narrative (talking and use of language)
- vocabulary
- speech sounds skills
- social skills
- emotional regulation and behaviour
Verbo allows teachers to create a pupil profile for pupils who require targeted support. For these pupils parents will be able to see which targets have been selected for their child and look at the videos and resources related to those targets. Parents will also be able to see the progress made and
write comments to let the school know how the child is doing with those targets at home. This enables parents to use the relevant activities and strategies to support their child’s speech and language development at home.
