Request new or replacement sacks
Extra food waste caddies
If you produce a lot of food waste, you can request an extra caddy free of charge.
Delivering your new bin
We aim to deliver your bin within 10 working days. During busy periods, it may take a little longer. While you wait, please store your rubbish and recycling, or take it to Barrowell Green Recycling Centre.
Important note:
- Only one 140-litre rubbish bin (black or grey lidded bin) is allowed per household
- If your current bin is damaged, it will be removed when the new one is delivered
- If your existing bin is not damaged, you will not receive a replacement
Request a larger rubbish bin

You may be eligible for a larger rubbish bin if:
- there are 4 or more people living in your household, with at least 1 child
- you have 2 or more children in nappies
- you produce large amounts of medical or incontinence waste
- you already recycle everything you can
The cost for a larger rubbish bin is £67.
After you apply, we will contact you to complete a questionnaire. This helps us make sure you’re recycling as much as possible and keeping waste to a minimum.
If you’re eligible, we will swap your smaller bin for a larger one within 4 weeks of your next collection day.
Stolen or damaged bins
You are responsible for keeping your bins safe. To help prevent theft:
- Label your bin
- Do not leave your bin out overnight
- Bring your bin in as soon as possible after collection (ask a neighbour for help if needed)
Bins for new homes
If you’ve moved into a newly built home or property, the developer must pay for the bins. If you need to request bins for a new build, please contact us.
If you do not want a bin
If you do not want a bin, you can take your rubbish and recycling to Barrowell Green Recycling Centre. We only collect rubbish or recycling in bins that we have supplied.
