Applying for an allotment

Our allotments are very popular and there is a long waiting list. It may take months even years before you are contacted for a vacant allotment plot.

What to consider before applying

How the process works

Step 1

Complete ‘apply for an allotment’ online form and you will be added to the waiting list.

Step 2

Plot becomes available and you will be contacted for a site visit.

Step 3

Complete application form, and make payment.

Step 1 - Apply for an allotment

To register an interest in joining the waiting list, complete the allotment application form below. Your application will then be added to the waiting list for the site or sites you applied for.

You will be contacted when your name comes to the top of the waiting list to confirm you are still interested.

Step 2 - Plot becomes available

When a plot becomes available, we will contact you (please make sure you keep your contact details up to date). You will have 14 days to respond to the offer.

If you do not respond to the offer within 14 days you will be removed from the waiting list. We will then offer the plot to the next person on the waiting list.

A date and time will be arranged for you to visit the plot and decide whether you will accept the plot offer.

Step 3 - Complete the application form

If you are happy to proceed, you will need to complete an application form and accept the terms and conditions. Make sure you fill in all details on the form (for example email address and phone number). Any missing information will delay the application process.

You will need to provide the supporting evidence for your address and any concessions that apply.

We will check your application form and evidence provided.

We will send you an invoice for the key deposit, plot deposit, water charge and rent payment. You will be given 2 weeks to make the payment.

Once payment has been received, we will assign your details to the allotment plot and provide you with the allotment key and welcome pack.
