Allotments have a good community spirit and are a great way to meet new people, develop your gardening skills and grow fresh produce.
Taking on an allotment is rewarding but involves time and hard work to maintain your plot. You will usually need to put in at least a couple of hours a week throughout the year.
Allotment sites are open every day between 5am and 10pm in the summer time, and during daylight hours in the wintertime.
