Welcome to Housing Gateway Limited (HGL). We are a private limited company that is wholly owned by Enfield Council. Our core business is to provide Enfield Council with homes they can use for families who would otherwise be homeless.
Types of tenancies
Tenants will have an agreement with either Housing Gateway or Enfield Let:
- Housing Gateway Limited (HGL) – We own property and issue a tenancy agreement. This is private rented accommodation.
- Enfield Let Managed (EL:M) – We lease the property from a private landlord and issue a tenancy agreement. This is private rented accommodation.
- Enfield Let Accredited Agent (EL:AA) – We lease the property from a private landlord and issue licence agreements. This is temporary accommodation.
How we are different
Our tenancies are not the same as standard private rented tenancies as we have removed some of the barriers faced by tenants. Our tenants do not need:
- a deposit
- rent in advance
- a clear credit history
Tenants have up to 2 years, where we will try to assist them to address these barriers, before they are encouraged to find their own homes in the standard private sector.
