Housing Gateway Limited (HGL) was established in 2014 by Enfield Council as an innovative response to reducing the borough’s housing pressures.
The company is operated by a board of directors who are responsible for making decisions, providing leadership and monitoring the performance of the company.
Kayt Wilson – Board Director
Kayt is an experienced housing professional. She has developed businesses and delivered frontline services on many projects. Most recently the development of Housing Gateway from a start-up to a multi-million pound company.
Kayt balances her role as HGL’s Managing Director with her position as Enfield Council's Director of Homelessness and Supported Housing.

Joanna Embling – Board Director
Joanna is a property professional and chartered surveyor, and a former partner at Cushman and Wakefield.
Joanna has a broad development background in regeneration and a keen interest in housing. She has served on the Development and New Business Committee of Notting Hill Housing. She was also a member of the Government's Private Rented Sector Taskforce.
A long-term resident of North London, her ambition is that everyone should have access to adequate housing. She believes that Housing Gateway Limited has a key role in providing that.
John Gillen – Board Director
John brings over 45 years of corporate and commercial banking with NatWest Bank to Housing Gateway Limited. This includes 25 years in senior leadership roles within the bank’s Real Estate Finance sector.
John's professional expertise spans strategic planning into operational performance, governance, risk management within strongly regulated environments requiring complex internal and external stakeholder engagement. His approach is rooted in purposeful, values-led leadership.
John also has lifelong ties to the London Borough of Enfield. He grew up in Edmonton and spent part of his banking career working locally. He firmly believes everyone deserves access to safe, affordable housing – an ethos that aligns closely with Housing Gateway Limited.
Neil Wightman – Board Director
Neil is an experienced senior housing manager. He has worked in local government for over 30 years. He has held several housing director roles and is currently the Director of Housing Services (Residents) at Enfield Council.
Neil's current portfolio covers housing management. In previous director roles he also managed homelessness and housing needs services. He has also sat on several boards as a non-executive director with a focus on customer services.
