Traffic management update on Meridian Way

Traffic management update during the UKPN infrastructure project on Meridian Way.

UK Power Networks (UKPN) are providing a 33kv electric supply to two new large developments situated in Ardra Road, Edmonton.

The cables will need to be installed from the existing substation in Watermead Way in Haringey and will proceed north into Enfield via Meridian Way to its junction with Ardra Road.

Phase one of the project will be carried out on Meridian Way between its junctions with Leeside Road and Conduit Lane under a northbound, inside lane closure.

Phase two of the project will also be carried out on Meridian Way between its junctions with Conduit Lane and Ardra Road with the implementation of a northbound road closure allowing southbound traffic to flow as normal.

Diverted northbound traffic will travel west on Conduit Lane, continuing westbound on A406 Angel Road and northbound on A10 Great Cambridge Road

Arrangements will be put in place to prevent additional traffic rat-running along Montagu Road by temporarily restricting the right turn from Conduit Lane into Montagu Road. This will be supported by CCTV enforcement.

Bus times could be affected for the 192 and 341 routes.

Meridian Way will be reopened on 15-18 November and 22-25 November so that Transport for London can carry out essential repair works to the Angel Road (A406) fly-over.

Works on Meridian Way will also cease on 11 December so that the road is open during the General Election day. Works will re-start on Friday 13 December 2019.

Meridian Way will be reopened from 16 December 2019 for the Christmas period. Works will recommence on 6 January 2020.

On Tottenham Hotspur match days please allow extra time to make your journey safely to the new stadium at White Hart Lane.

The projects are expected to be completed no later than January 2020.
