Advice for residents, visitors and businesses regarding road closure at South Street

Road works are currently taking place on South Street EN3 and residents, visitors and businesses are being made aware of road closures that may impact their journeys.

The road closure is required to allow the contractor to work safely in the highway on South Street, between the junctions of Scotland Green Road and Woodall Road, EN3.

Works began on 27 July 2020 however due to overrunning road works on Green Street, the original diversion route has had to change.

Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) wishing to enter Woodall Road will now have to use the following diversion routes:

HGVs heading northbound - High Street EN3, Hertford Road EN3, Ordnance Road EN3, Mollison Avenue EN3, Green Street EN3, Alma Road EN3.

HGVs heading southbound - Hertford Road EN3, Mollison Avenue EN3, Green Street EN3, Alma Road EN3.

Residents have already been notified of local diversion routes. The route for access to Alma Road and Woodall Road is via Hertford Road, Durants Road and Alma Road. This route has been chosen due to ongoing works at the Junction with Green Street and Hertford Road, resulting in a ban for vehicles to turn right from Hertford Road onto Green Street.

TfL bus route 191 is on diversion in both directions via Scotland Green Road. Route 191 is missing stops from Ponders End Station / Oasis Academy Hadley to Alexandra Road towards Brimsdown Station and from Durants Road to Oasis Academy Hadley towards Edmonton Green.
