At Enfield Educational Psychology Service (EPS), we are committed to supporting children, young people, families, and schools in understanding and addressing Emotional Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA).
EBSNA refers to situations where a child or young person experiences significant emotional distress that makes attending school challenging.
EBSNA Guidance
In collaboration with local partner services, we have developed guidance to help schools and families recognize, understand, and respond effectively to EBSNA.
The guidance provides practical strategies, advice, and signposting for further support.
Our aim is to promote early intervention, build supportive, safe environments, and ensure that every child and young person can engage in education with confidence so that they achieve positive outcomes.

EBSNA Offer
Is emotionally based school non-attendance (EBSNA) a concern for you?
Join the Virtual School in Partnership with the Educational Psychology Service at an online two-part workshop for schools and settings.
We will be focusing on how we can support all children and young people who are experiencing EBSNA.
Primary schools in Enfield can also access support for students experiencing EBSNA as part of the wider outreach offer from Special Educational Needs (SEN).
