Our Commitment to Safe, Ethical, and Inclusive AI
At the Enfield Educational Psychology Service (EPS), we are dedicated to improving the wellbeing, learning, and life chances of children and young people. We thoughtfully integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our work, always keeping the needs and rights of children, families, and schools at the centre of our approach.
Our Principles
- Equity and Inclusion: We actively monitor for bias. Our Educational Psychologists are trained to screen AI drafts for gender, neurodiversity, and other biases that may arise in automated language models. This ensures content is fair, culturally responsive, and inclusive.
- Transparency: We always inform service users when AI tools are being used and seek informed consent.
- Privacy and Data Protection: Only approved, GDPR-compliant AI tools are used. Identifiable or sensitive data is never uploaded to public AI platforms.
- Accuracy and Critical Thinking: All AI-generated content is fact-checked and critically evaluated before use.
- Human Oversight: AI supports, but never replaces, the expertise and judgement of our Educational Psychologists.
Magic Notes
One of the AI tools we use is called Magic Notes. This secure and innovative tool helps us accurately transcribe meetings and create first-draft write-ups. Magic Notes allows practitioners to focus on the conversation rather than note-taking, ensuring clarity and consistency in our records while respecting confidentiality and your rights.
- Your Rights: You are always in control. There is no obligation to use Magic Notes, and you can opt out at any time, including during a meeting.
- Data Security: We use enterprise-grade versions of AI tools which ensure that Enfield data is never used to train global AI models. All information is kept private and confidential, never used to train external AI models, and is deleted after 60 days.
- Transparency: Your conversation is only used to help us with our work and is not shared with others.

Our AI Policy
We have a robust AI Use Policy and Position Statement that sets clear boundaries for what is acceptable and prohibited in our use of artificial intelligence. These documents ensure we comply with data protection laws and always place human oversight at the centre of all AI-assisted processes. Our Position Statement, which flows directly from our Policy, outlines our commitment to ethical, responsible, and transparent use of AI within the Enfield Educational Psychology Service.
