Traffic Management Orders (TMOs) are official rules made by local councils to control traffic and parking on public roads.
- Temporary orders – short-term changes, usually for roadworks, events or emergencies
- Permanent orders – long-term rules, such as speed limits or parking restrictions
- Experimental orders – trial changes tested for up to 18 months before deciding whether to keep them permanently
