Controlled parking zones and permit parking areas
Controlled parking zones (CPZs) and permit parking areas (PPAs) require specific permits. You can apply for a permit to park in these areas for certain times of the day.
Types of permits:
- Resident
- Visitor
- Business
- Carer
To prove the address where the vehicle is kept within the CPZ or PPA, you must provide the vehicle registration document (for the address you are applying for a permit for) and a utility bill (within the last 3 months). You can upload these documents during your online application.
Blue Badge exemption permits for Quieter Neighbourhood areas
Some exemptions for permit holders apply to camera enforced traffic restrictions within Bowes Primary Area Quieter Neighbourhood and Fox Lane Area Quieter Neighbourhood. Eligible residents can apply for a permit to drive through camera enforced ‘no motor vehicle’ restrictions with an exemption.
The type of permit required is BOW, for Blue Badge holders living within the BOW Permit Zone and FOX for Blue Badge holders living within FOX Permit Zone. The permit is free.
You will need to provide a copy of the permit holder's Blue Badge when the application is made.
New online permit system
We have introduced a new online permit system. The first time you use this system you will need to set up an account before you can apply for a permit. You will not be able to renew your existing permit (issued before 29 July 2019), you will need to apply for a new one and provide supporting evidence.
