A restricted parking zone (RPZ) is an area where parking is limited. Unlike controlled parking zones (CPZs), there are no yellow lines or other markings indicating where you can and cannot park. Instead, the restrictions are displayed on signs at the entrance to the zone and within it. The signs specify the times and conditions of parking limitations.
The Meridian Water estate is an RPZ and identified by entry point signs that state ‘Restricted parking ZONE’ and ‘No loading’.
Parking bays are identified by different coloured paving stones and applicable parking signs. There are no yellow lines installed. However, vehicles are not permitted to park outside of marked/signed areas during the controlled time.
Meridian Water RPZ is restricted Monday to Sunday between 9am and 9pm. Vehicles can only be parked in permitted areas during these days and times. Parking outside of the permitted areas may result in a penalty charge notice being issued. Also, the vehicle may be removed to the council’s vehicle car pound.
This zone also differs to other CPZs within the borough of Enfield, with regards to permit requirements and parking concessions.
- Resident parking bays MW1: Only vehicles with a valid MW1 resident permit can park in these bays during controlled times
- Visitor parking bays MW2: Only vehicles with a valid visitor permit MW2 can park within these bays during controlled times
- Disabled bays: Only disabled badge holders can park in these bays during controlled times
- Car club bays: Only car club vehicles with a valid car club permit can park in these bays
Disabled badge holders are not permitted to park in any resident, visitor or car club bays within the Meridian Water estate. Disabled badge holders can only park in the dedicated disabled bays within the estate.
Permit applications
Only properties located within the Meridian Water RPZ are eligible to apply for resident or visitor permits. Each property may apply for 1 resident permit (MW1), and 50 part-day visitor vouchers (MW2), per year. Visitor vouchers are sold in books of 10.
Parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Holding a resident permit does not guarantee a parking space.
To renew or apply for a new permit, sign in to your account. If you're using the system for the first time, select 'Create a new account'.
