Enfield Council has announced the postponement of its Climate Change Conference on Thursday 19 March in response to the United Kingdom entering the delay phase of measures to tackle COVID-19.
The meeting, which sought to give residents the opportunity to comment on the Council’s Climate Change Action Plan, will be rescheduled to a later date. Interested parties will still be able to give feedback on the plans which can be viewed on the Council’s website here today (13 March).
Deputy Leader and Chair of the Climate Change Taskforce, Cllr Ian Barnes, said: “It has been decided with deep regret to suspend the Climate Change Conference, with the intention of rescheduling it to a later date. We are still open to feedback on our plans to tackle the climate emergency, so we’d encourage residents to read the strategy and email us their comments so they can be taken into account.
“In this unprecedented situation we are working closely with the government and Public Health England to ensure the safety and welfare of staff and residents of Enfield.”
Enfield Council has also updated the advice on its website to residents regarding coronavirus, which can be viewed here
