Enfield Council to host online coronavirus vaccination webinar for London's Bulgarian community

An online Covid-19 vaccine information event for Bulgarians in London is being hosted for Enfield residents on Friday 5 March.

The event, chaired by the Leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Nesil Caliskan, will take place on Friday, 5 March 2021, from 6pm to 7.15pm and has been put together by Enfield Council and Edmonton Community Partnership.

The information event has been organised to encourage the take up of the coronavirus vaccine and provide information to Bulgarian speaking communities in London.

The Council is keen to work with Bulgarian communities because there have been lower than average take up rates of the coronavirus vaccine among members of this community as it is being rolled out.

Enfield Council Leader, Cllr Nesil Caliskan, who is chairing the event, said: “I am very pleased we are organising this important event, COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on our communities. Vaccine uptake is crucial to prevent more deaths and ensure we can get back to normal as soon as possible.

“Councils in London are working with the NHS to deliver a series of online COVID vaccination events aimed at a range of community groups including those where there are high levels of vaccine hesitancy. Given that there is a large Bulgarian speaking population in London it is right that we hold this event for our residents.

“As a Council, we are committed to ensuring that every resident gets all the information about the vaccines so they are comfortable knowing it is safe and effective and will protect them and their loved ones from coronavirus.

Residents living across London can join the informal, open and interactive session online via Zoom or watch live on Enfield Council’s Facebook page.

Participants will listen to health professionals talk about the benefits of taking the vaccine and hear from others who have had the vaccine and their experiences.

There will also be a question and answer session where participants can ask a question or raise any concerns they may have.

You can join the information event on Zoom (webinar ID 984 5674 0595), or watch live on our facebook page. To ask questions, you will have to join via Zoom.
