Enfield Council is recognising the heroic people who work for the NHS and the emergency (blue light) services on national Emergency Services Day.
Cllr Andrew Thorp, Cabinet Member for Communications & Customer Services, and Armed Forces Champion at Enfield Council, said:
"On 6th September, Enfield came together to celebrate Emergency Services Day and to recognise the incredible contribution made by the people who keep our communities safe every day.
“It was a pleasure to meet firefighters, police officers, paramedics and volunteers at Enfield Civic Centre and thank them personally for their dedication and service.
“I was also delighted to see so many families attend the Emergency Services Day event, delivered in partnership with Enfield Market, Palace Gardens Shopping Centre and the Parade of Light Team.
“It was fantastic to see local young people meeting emergency services personnel, exploring their vehicles and learning more about the vital work they do.
“The professionalism, courage and commitment shown by our blue light services is something we should all be proud of.
“I hope the event inspired some of our younger residents to consider a future career in the emergency services or volunteering in our community.
“Enfield Council works closely with our emergency services every day, and those strong partnerships play a crucial role in keeping residents safe and supporting our communities.
“As we mark Emergency Services Day, I want to thank everyone across our emergency services, both staff and volunteers, for the outstanding work they do for Enfield and our country."
