Three new retail units called the Green Pop-Up at Edmonton Green have been completed and will soon launch with three exciting independent businesses.
The Green Pop-Up is an Enfield Council project to support the local economy and town centre.
The initiative has created three community-focused retail units, reflecting the area’s rich cultural identity and entrepreneurial spirit.
The project attracted strong interest from the community, with 30 Expressions of Interest submitted. Following a competitive assessment process, three standout businesses were chosen to take part.
Two of the successful businesses recently completed the Trailblazer Programme, an initiative designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs to develop and grow their ventures. The third business has been nurtured through Launch It’s Angel Yard incubation programme.
The three businesses, soon to open, are:
- Café Nadia -a women-led social café offering healthy food in a welcoming environment, while empowering women through employment, training and community connection
- Mama Zizi – a Lebanese-inspired street food concept serving freshly made wraps, sandwiches and signature fries
- The Golden Coffee – a specialty Ethiopian coffee business focused on freshly roasted coffee and creating opportunities through training
The Green Pop-Up forms part of Enfield Council’s wider regeneration and placemaking ambitions for Edmonton, helping to create a more vibrant, inclusive and economically stronger town centre.
Cllr Sabri Ozaydin, Cabinet Member for Placemaking at Enfield Council, said:
“We are delighted to see the Green Pop-Up come to life at Edmonton Green. This initiative is a fantastic example of how we can support local entrepreneurs while revitalising our town centres. By providing accessible spaces for businesses to grow, we are not only boosting the local economy but also creating a more vibrant and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.”
The Council will continue to support the businesses as they establish themselves, with the aim of helping them grow and contribute to the long-term regeneration of Edmonton Green.
