Award of £100,000 to drive evidence-based transformation in Enfield's children’s services

Enfield Council has been selected as one of only nine local authorities nationwide, and the only one in London, to become a Foundations Partner Place, receiving £100,000 in funding to strengthen how evidence is used to shape and improve services for children and families.

The award, part of the national Evidence into Practice Partner Places programme led by Foundations – What Works Centre for Children & Families, recognises Enfield’s strong commitment to innovation, collaboration and social care reform.

Over the next 18 months, the funding will support the creation of a dedicated role that will help embed research-based approaches across early help, family support and children’s social care.

Working alongside Enfield’s senior leaders and regional partners, the project will ensure that frontline practice and service design are guided by what works best for children and families.

Cllr Abdul Abdullahi, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “We’re proud that Enfield has been recognised nationally as a Partner Place. This investment allows us to strengthen our use of evidence and ensure that every decision we make is informed by what we know improves lives for children and families. We are always looking to improve our services for families and to share our learning with all relevant services areas and with our peers.”

The programme will also allow Enfield to share insights with neighbouring boroughs, contributing to wider changes in children’s services and aligning closely with the Council’s Family Help and service transformation priorities.
