From March, Ponders End and Craig Park Youth and Family Hubs will offer free financial advice for families through the newly launched Family Financial Resilience Partnership programme.
Funded by the Mayor of London, the programme aims to expand financial support and resources to parents and carers of children up to age 19, or 25 for those with special education needs or disabilities.
The advice will cover a range of issues including benefit entitlement, debt, housing, childcare, disability, immigration advice and referrals for employment support.
Councillor Abdul Abdullahi, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “We are committed to supporting families who may be struggling financially.
“This new programme will help achieve high-quality support and increase access to families with children in our community that need it most.
“The in-person advice can make a real difference to families - not only to help solve their problems, but to also increase their income, manage essential costs and improve outcomes for their children.”
Eligible families, once referred by the Family Hubs or Children’s Services, can book to see the advisors from March. Timetable can be found on Youth and Family.
