HIV testing bus makes a stop in Enfield

HIV

Free, walk-in HIV tests were made available in Enfield, to mark the start of National HIV Testing Week (6 February).

Enfield Council’s Public Health team worked in partnership with the Council’s LGBTQ+ Staff Network and HIV charity Positive East to encourage people to get tested.

Positive East came to Enfield Town with its professional testing and prevention team and their mobile testing bus.

The team provided residents with free, confidential, and rapid HIV tests. These only required a finger prick and results were provided within 15 minutes. Information and support around HIV prevention and sexual health were also offered.

The tests were performed in a comfortable, non-judgemental environment. Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health, Cllr Alev Cazimoglu, also visited the bus for a HIV test and to meet the Positive East team.

If you missed the HIV testing bus, you are still able to get a free test with Starts With Me produced by the Terrence Higgins Trust for HIV Prevention England.
