The Office of National Statistics (ONS) estimated in 2021 that we had a total of 14,540 businesses registered for VAT and PAYE. There were 15,940 ‘local units’, which includes businesses with head offices outside the borough.
Employment

The ONS estimated in 2020 that we had a total of 126,000 jobs in the borough.
