CCTV and fly-tipping
The Waste Enforcement team use re-deployable CCTV cameras to help stop people from dumping waste illegally (fly-tipping).
Fly-tipping means dumping any waste (black bags, fridges, matresses etc.), in places where it is not allowed – like streets, parks, or alleyways.
To see where the cameras are, zoom in on the map and click the blue pins.
How long recordings are kept
Recordings are stored for up to 30 days. If the footage is part of a criminal investigation, it may be kept longer.
Where and why we use CCTV
We place these cameras in areas where fly-tipping frequently happens. They help us focus on problem areas and aim to deter future fly-tipping.
To take enforcement action, such as issuing a Fixed Penalty Notice and/or prosecuting, we need to clearly identify the person and/or vehicle involved.
If you know who is fly-tipping, please report it.
Other CCTV Systems
The Enfield Public Safety Centre also uses CCTV. For more information, see Video surveillance system – CCTV.
