Important notice
We are aware that street lights in the borough are switching on and off an hour later than they should. Please do not report the issue as we are looking into the matter urgently.
Reports via our website are processed during office hours only, and in the order they are received. If you think the problem is urgent, call us on 020 8379 1000 to report this instead.
We have a schedule to maintain street lights on public roads. You can report problems with illuminated bollards, illuminated signs, pedestrian crossing flashing beacons and street lights. You should provide detailed information about the location and, if possible, the lamp column number.
We will work with our partner Bouygues and aim to fix the problem within 5 working days of receiving a report. A network (electrical) problem can take much longer to repair. If the problem is an emergency and may cause an accident, contact Bouygues directly on 0800 032 6788 (open 24 hours).

Street light renewal programme
In 2006, we began a 25 year initiative with Bouygues to renew, improve and maintain all of our street lights and illuminated traffic signs. Between 2006 and 2011 all of our street lamps were replaced to meet modern British and European standards.
In order to save energy and reduce carbon emissions, we installed a Central Management System (CMS) in 2012 to vary lighting levels and reduce switch-on times. The CMS has already reduced our street light energy bill by 30% and saved approximately 1,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
