We provide several types of crossing points for pedestrians.
Controlled crossing points have official traffic signals and include:
- zebra crossing with flashing beacons
- pelican, puffin and toucan crossings with traffic lights and pedestrian warnings
We must hold a formal consultation to put up a new controlled crossing point.
Uncontrolled crossings have a dropped kerb with no official traffic signals. These crossings are often at junctions or on islands in the centre of roads. We can put up an uncontrolled crossing without a formal consultation.
Email pavement.renewal@enfield.gov.uk to recommend a new uncontrolled crossing point. If we think a crossing is needed, we will add it to our maintenance work plan.
