Local Development Scheme
The Local Development Scheme (LDS) (PDF, 286.78 KB) is a public statement setting out the council's project plan for preparing development plan documents. It sets out the scope and programme for the preparation of these documents and establishes the framework for delivering the spatial planning strategy for the borough.
This document provides information on the local development documents we intend to produce in the next 4-year period. The revised LDS carries forward progress made on the new Local Plan to adoption stage by 2025.
Statement of Community Involvement
The Statement of Community Involvement (PDF, 478.02 KB) (SCI), was adopted on 15 May 2023. It seeks to make sure that local communities and stakeholders remain active and involved in planning. It sets out how, when and who will be consulted throughout the preparation of the Local Plan, and other planning documents prepared by the council. It also sets out how the community can respond to planning applications.
The new SCI has been updated to reflect current legislation, and places greater emphasis on meaningful community engagement. It has also been updated following changes to the approach to community engagement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
An Equalities Impact Assessment PDF, 275.02 KB (EqIA), was undertaken.
