Our vision
We want an economy where everyone can take part and benefit. We focus on working together and finding new ideas to make the biggest positive impact on our area.
Key initiatives
Economic Development Plan
We have a plan to grow the economy and fix issues found in audits. We focus on using what we already have and bringing in outside investment to improve how we work.
Inclusive Economy Definition
We want an economy that works for everyone. We help close skills gaps, support businesses, and run projects that improve communities.
Digital Infrastructure in Enfield
We help people get connected through workshops and clear action plans, so our community can stay connected and competitive.
Digital connectivity isn’t just about faster internet – it’s about creating opportunities, boosting innovation, and making sure no one is left out.
At Enfield Council, we want to build a borough that’s ready for the future, where residents and businesses can thrive in a connected world.
Through our Inclusive Growth & Skills Service, we work with top telecom companies and partners to:
- bring full fibre broadband
- expand 4G and 5G coverage
- add smart technology to projects like Meridian Water
This means better access, lower costs, and the digital skills people need to do well.
Our vision is clear – we want to:
- enable growth by attracting investment in cutting-edge infrastructure
- empower residents with digital skills and inclusion programmes
- future-proof Enfield with strategies that embrace innovation and sustainability
Together, we’re creating a borough that is digitally inclusive, economically strong, and prepared for tomorrow.
Inward Investment
We start projects like UKSPF to bring in investment and help local businesses. We follow social value principles so developments, like the Selby project, benefit the community.
Circular economy
The London Borough of Enfield encourages businesses to follow circular economy principles. These aim to reduce waste and make the most of resources by reusing, repairing, recycling, and using materials sustainably. This includes things like closed-loop supply chains, product return schemes, and remanufacturing to cut waste and improve efficiency.
Key principles:
- Eliminate waste and pollution: Think carefully about how resources are used at every stage of a product’s life, from design to disposal
- Circulate products and materials: Design items to last, be reused, and remanufactured so they stay in circulation for as long as possible
- Regenerate natural systems: Use practices that help nature recover and support biodiversity
