Enfield Council is committed to becoming a carbon neutral authority by 2030. This commitment is set out in the Climate Action Plan published in 2020. The plan also sets a wider target for the whole borough to be carbon neutral by 2040. It outlines actions being taken across council buildings, with a focus on using green energy and encouraging residents to help create a greener and more sustainable borough.
As part of the Climate Action Plan, we are improving the energy efficiency of our social housing through the Warm Homes programme. The aim is to reduce residents’ energy bills, provide warmer and healthier homes, and reduce carbon emissions.
The programme is supported by the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (WH:SHF) though a strategic partnership with other local authorities and housing associations, led by Warmer Homes London.
Based on an initial home assessment, suggested works may include insulation, solar panels and more efficient heating systems. Without this initial ‘retrofit assessment’ we cannot confirm which measures will be suitable for your home.
