We charge Council Tax on most homes. Each home receives one bill, whether it's a:
- house
- flat
- maisonette
- bungalow
- mobile home
- houseboat
It does not matter if you own or rent the property.
Council Tax bands
Council Tax is based on a banding system set by the Valuation Office Agency (VOA).
You can check your property's band at GOV.UK – Check your Council Tax band.
Your Council Tax bill will show your band. The amounts below assume 2 adults live in the property. If you receive Council Tax support, your bill will be reduced.

Adult social care precept
For 2026 to 2027, Council Tax includes a 2% precept for adult social care.
