Pupil place planning

Local authorities must make sure there are enough school places for all pupils and to plan these places effectively. In Enfield, this responsibility lies with the Pupil Place Planning team who work closely with the Enfield Schools Admission Service.

Vision and purpose

The Enfield Pupil Place Planning team makes sure there are enough school places for the local community. They use data and research to predict future needs by looking at population growth, new housing, and migration patterns. They check current school facilities and suggest new projects if needed. This planning helps improve access to quality education, uses resources wisely, and involves the community. Their goal is to make sure every child has a suitable school place through accurate forecasting, securing funds, and coordinating with other agencies.

Current situation

The Enfield Pupil Place Strategy 2024 – Strengthening Education Provision in Enfield (PDF, 605.56 KB) includes details about pupil numbers and future plans to meet the community's needs while providing quality education.
