This project will provide a wide range of enhancements and improvements to the school facilities. These will have a positive impact on the outcomes for the pupils of Oaktree School. These will include:

Planned improvements

As well as creating more pupil places, we are improving accessibility around the school. The new facilities will provide the resources to help students learn, build their social skills and make the most of every opportunity. These changes show our commitment to building a more inclusive school. We want to make sure every student feels valued and accommodated.

Benefits for the community

The new MUGA will give the local community a flexible space for sports and fun activities. It will help people of all ages stay active and connect with others.

Sustainability and Net Zero goals

The project includes smart ways to save energy, like using air source heat pumps and solar panels. We’re adding green areas to support biodiversity and wildlife.. We’ll also reuse rainwater to save water and cut down on carbon emissions. All these steps help us move towards a cleaner, greener future.

Safety awareness

Hutton Construction Ltd are working in partnership with the school to help students understand the importance of safety around a construction site. Sessions will be educational and encouraging – helping students understand key safety principles in construction. Students will also be invited to engage in a poster competition – giving them the opportunity to apply their creativity while learning about safety.

Work experience placements

Hutton Construction Ltd are working with Oaktree School to offer students work experience placements.

Students will have the opportunity to learn directly from their experienced site manager, gain practical experience, develop new skills, and explore the different types of roles within the industry. Placements are designed to be educational and supportive, providing a safe environment where students can learn and grow in a real workplace setting.

Timeline for development
