Introduction
For all appointments at Enfield Register Office, we only accept payments by credit or debit card. We do not accept cash or cheques.
All provisional and confirmed ceremony bookings are subject to our terms and conditions.
Booking fees
We charge the following booking and administration fees:
- £100 - booking fee for provisional ceremony bookings
- £50 to £112 - administration fee for some wedding ceremonies. This is in addition to any statutory fee due. Ask the registrar for more details.
- £50 - booking fee for re-registration appointments
- £20 - booking fee for Saturday appointments
All booking and administration fees are non-refundable. Refer to our terms and conditions for more information.
Certificates
For certificates, we charge:
- £11 - for each birth, death, marriage or civil partnership certificate
- £11 - for each 'short' certificate. This only applies to birth certificates.
- £35 - priority service if you need a certificate urgently. We can usually have your certificate ready to collect from 4pm on the same day, if you order in person before 12pm. This includes the £11 certificate fee.
- £3* - recorded delivery of up to 2 certificates. Add £1* for each additional certificate. This is in addition to the £11 certificate fee.
- £40 - name changes to a birth certificate. This only applies if you change your child's forenames within 12 months of first registration.
- Up to £90 - consideration of a correction to a birth, death, marriage or civil partnership certificate
- £2* - for each keepsake birth certificate folder

Marriages and civil partnerships
Before you can get married you need to give a minimum notice of 28 days. See information about fees to give notice.
Ceremonies in the Admiral's Suite, Enfield Register Office
Fees include use of the room, and the attendance of the registrar.
Standard ceremonies:
- £280 - Monday to Thursday, before 5pm
Premium ceremonies (prices vary depending on the day and time):
- £380 - Friday, before 5pm
- £400 - Saturday, before 5pm
- £590 - Sunday, before 5pm
- £1,000 - Bank holidays
Register office statutory ceremonies and civil partnership signings
- £107 - Civil partnership signing, limited availability on Thursday morning (includes one certificate)
- £107 - Statutory ceremony, limited availability on Thursday morning (includes one certificate)
Ceremonies at an approved venue
Fees include the registrar's attendance only.
- £590 - Monday to Friday, before 5pm
- £600 - Saturday, before 5pm
- £620 - Sunday, before 5pm
- £1,000 - Bank holidays, before 5pm
- £800 - Monday to Friday, from 5pm to 8pm
- £900 - Saturday or Sunday, from 5pm to 8pm
- £1,500 - Bank holidays, from 5pm to 8pm (including Christmas Eve and News Year’s Eve)
Private citizenship ceremonies
For a private citizenship ceremony, we charge:
- £160* - Monday to Friday
- £180* - Saturday

For a general search of our birth indexes, we charge £18 per visit.

Fees to give notice
- £35 - notice fee per person
- £47 - notice fee with referral to the Home Office per person
- £50 - consideration fee to accept or reject divorce or civil partnership dissolution documents issued outside the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or Isle of Man
- £75 - if the registrar needs to refer your foreign divorce or civil partnership dissolution documents to the General Register Office for consideration
- £35* - per amendment to any notice
