Support with housing costs

From 1 April 2026, Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP) will be replaced by the Housing Payment as part of the government’s new Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF).

Although the name is changing, you can still get help with rent and other housing costs if you are struggling.

The Housing Payment is funded by the UK Government through the Crisis and Resilience Fund.

Who can apply

You can apply for a Housing Payment if you get Housing Benefit or Universal Credit housing costs, and think you need extra help paying your rent.

Before you apply, check that the Housing Benefit or Universal Credit you currently receive is correct and based on your up-to-date income and circumstances.

The Housing Payment fund is limited, so we look at your income and expenses before making a decision.

If your claim is successful, we will send you a letter with details of the payment.

Fill in the form and email it to revs@enfield.gov.uk.

If you disagree with our decision

If you disagree with your Housing Payment decision, you can ask us to review it by emailing revs@enfield.gov.uk. You must request a review within 1 month of receiving your decision letter.

This is a discretionary scheme. Our review decision is final and there is no right of appeal.
