Course outcomes:
* To reflect on gender, men, fathering and diversity
* To explore potential practice dilemmas in working with men
* To be able to review research evidence on the impact of fathers and father figures on children’s welfare (including in safeguarding)
* Identify the barriers of engaging with males and how to overcome these barriers
* Consider the implications for multi-agency working
* To recognise men as a potential resource for children and young people
* Consider how to involve males in assessment and planning and to get maximum engagement from the men in families
* Understand the potential implications of men in families considering their needs and role within the family
