Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Contribute to the safeguarding of children and young people living in homes where a parent is misusing substances
- Describe the effects substance misuse has on parenting capacity
- Understand the short and long term effects of parental substance misuse on children
- Have a better understanding of the issues that substance misusing parents face and how to engage with them effectively
- Have an awareness of the referral pathways to specialist services and current treatment options available to children and parents
