Our 3-hour interactive online training session includes several case studies compiled with experts by experience. Topics include:
- How young people are increasingly exposed to gaming and gambling harm.
- The influence of advertising, particularly around sporting events.
- the role of social media, in game purchases, loot boxes and Esports.
- Decision making ability in young adults and motivation theories for gaming.
- Guilt shame and stigma.
- Signs of harm, conversations, planning and signposting.
Learning outcomes:
- Improve your knowledge of gaming, gambling, and the associated harms
- Be able to identify factors which increase the vulnerability of CYP to gaming and/or gambling harms
- Develop the skills to enable you to have meaningful conversations about gaming and gambling
- Be able to risk assess participation and know how and when to respond
- Know where to access available resources and signpost CYP
