Residents in Enfield Council housing are being given the opportunity to join a group to make their voices heard and to represent their communities.
- Enfield Council is seeking volunteers to join Customer Voice
- The board represents the views and aspirations of Enfield Council tenants and leaseholders
- Items discussed include how the housing service could improve, proposals for doing things differently and changes on housing estates
Tenants and leaseholders are being asked to join Customer Voice, to make sure residents’ aspirations, priorities and concerns are taken on board when the Council delivers housing services to its residents.
Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing and Housing Regeneration, Cllr Ahmet Oykener, said: “Customer Voice is central to our housing service. By joining our panel, you can make positive changes in your community and give a voice to residents on a wide range of issues including repairs, service initiatives, contractor performance and environmental projects. In addition, we would love to hear about new ideas and policies that can help influence how Enfield Council delivers its services and how to better foster strong communities.
“Customer Voice is an invaluable, resident body made up of tenants and leaseholders supported by Council officers. If you have a willingness to drive change and to make a difference, Enfield Council will offer you the support and training to get involved.”
Mrs Barbara Fry, the Chair of the Customer Voice, said: “I have been part of the Customer Voice board for nearly four years and have found it has been incredibly important to help scrutinise how different services are performing and how they are being delivered. It would be great to see more local residents getting involved - the Customer Voice is a fantastic way of getting the community together. It helps us learn about each other’s needs and requirements and I really feel we can make a difference to help improve where we live and the area around our homes.”
