Save money and keep warm this winter

A free service from Enfield Council could help eligible residents save hundreds of pounds and make their homes more energy efficient.

* Enfield Council’s free LEAP service aims to help eligible residents stay warm and well
* Eligible residents can get a free expert check and home energy advice from a Green Doctor
* Enfield’s Green Doctors can help residents save up to £287 a year on energy bills

Enfield offers residents a free visit from a fully trained Green Doctor, who can help them save money on their energy bills. A range of energy saving measures are available, including draught proofing, low energy light bulbs, radiator panels and shower savers.

The Green Doctors also offer free energy efficiency hints and tips to help find the cheapest gas and electricity prices. They can also make referrals to Income Maximisation services to ensure the residents claim all the benefits and grants they are entitled to.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration & Business, Cllr Alan Sitkin, said: “We’re committed to making sure residents are warm and well this winter so we’re urging people to check if they’re eligible for free energy efficiency advice.

This expert help will save our most vulnerable residents money, but more importantly will help keep them well during the winter period. We can help reduce health inequalities through effective partnership working and make sure our population stays out of hospital during the busiest time of the year.”
