Enfield Council will light up the Civic Centre in orange lights this evening (Friday 24 September) to show solidarity and support for Sabina Nessa and every other woman who has ever been affected by violence and harassment.
Enfield Council sends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Sabina Nessa.
Cllr Nesil Caliskan, Leader of the Council, said: “We will be lighting up our Civic Centre orange tonight in solidarity with Sabina Nessa and those attending the candlelight vigil in Kidbrooke Village. Our thoughts are with Sabina’s family and friends as we stand together in our commitment to a future free of gender-based violence.”
Enfield Council will continue to work to deliver on the objectives outlined in its own Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy, and will regularly review its approach to better protect and support women and girls in the borough.
