New Stay and Play space open at Craig Park Youth and Family Hub

Launch of Stay and Play space at Craig Park Youth Centre

Craig Park Youth and Family Hub has unveiled a dedicated Stay and Play space in Edmonton, marking a significant milestone in the borough’s commitment to supporting children and families.

The new facility, designed specifically for early years provision, offers a secure and colourful environment for children aged between 0 and 5 years and their families to engage in play-based learning, socialising and developmental support.

Councillor Abdul Abdullahi, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, officially opened the new space with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 1 December, welcoming the local families, children and service users on the day.

Councillor Abdullahi said: “Our hubs act as a one-stop support centre, and this new space will be a wonderful addition to the Craig Park Youth and Family Hub, which opened in July 2024.

“We are confident the Stay and Play space will provide a stimulating environment for children to grow, learn, and thrive.

“The space will also enhance our welcoming atmosphere for families, offering a place to connect with others, build relationships, and support their children’s wellbeing together.”

Following consultation and planning, the Stay and Play space was built in an underutilised external area, which was transformed into a purpose-built, child-friendly zone.

Construction was supported by Department for Education funding, with Enfield receiving more than £4.3 million since 2022 and an additional £1.5 million for 2025/26

This expansion is part of the Council’s broader Family Hubs initiative, which aims to deliver integrated, accessible and effective services for families across Enfield.
