Children’s book set at Forty Hall launches in time for Christmas

Forty Hall - book launch

Forty Hall is set to release a heart-warming children’s book called I’m Not Scared, featuring the tale of Rip the dog, who lives at the Forty Hall Estate.

Commissioned and published by Forty Hall Estate, the book has been authored and illustrated by Blossom Carrasco, who draws inspiration from real characters and follows Rip’s adventures through the landscape and hall, making the tale perfect for primary school children.

Residents, families, and children are invited to attend the official launch of the book, where they will have the opportunity to meet and greet Blossom on 29 November. The event will take place on the front lawn at Forty Hall from 12pm to 2pm.

I’m Not Scared will also be available to purchase, with a 10% discount offered on the day.  A contribution from every book sale will go back to the Friends group.

Councillor Chinelo Anyanwu, Cabinet Member for Culture and Inclusion said: “We are so happy to keep the culture and the history of Forty Hall alive through the release of I’m Not Scared.

“Children can dive deep into the heritage of Forty Hall and discover what mysteries and adventures the Estate holds.

“A lot of thought and love has been poured into curating this book, so thank you to Blossom and our Friends of Forty Hall Park for your efforts. This could be the perfect gift to give your kids, niece or nephew this Christmas.

“Forty Hall Park is recognised as one of the UK’s very best green spaces and is also a home to a growing beaver family, thanks to our beaver reintroduction project.

“In recent months, we have further been awarded £240,000 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to launch a new heritage education project across the borough, including Forty Hall.

“We have and will continue to invest in Forty Hall Park, and Estate.”

Additional products inspired by the book’s characters, will also be launched, exclusive to Forty Hall.

The book will be available to purchase at Forty Hall Shop or online after the launch event.
