The swimming pool at Edmonton Leisure Centre in The Broadway will re-open on Monday 4 August after major refurbishment work.
The re-opening of the six lane, 25-metre pool, with a redecorated changing village and new lighting, has been made possible by a significant investment and partnership with Enfield Council and leisure operator GLL, who operate under the brand name Better.
Cabinet Member for Environment and Placemaking at Enfield Council, Cllr Sabri Ozaydin, said: “We are delighted the swimming pool will be re-opened at Edmonton Leisure Centre, following a significant and essential programme of works.
“We are committed to investing in high-quality leisure provision and contribute to the health and wellbeing of residents.”
GLL’s Partnership Manager for Enfield, Vishal Karia, said: “The improvements at Edmonton Leisure Centre mark a major milestone in our commitment to the community.
"The new and upgraded swimming pool is designed to meet the needs of local residents, helping them achieve their health and wellbeing goals and create a healthier and more active Edmonton.”
New dry-side facilities at Edmonton Leisure Centre were formally re-opened on 28 April by Cllr Sabri Ozaydin and Cllr Ergin Erbil, Leader of Enfield Council, while work on the swimming pool continued.
The facilities include a brand-new gym featuring the latest fitness equipment, a dedicated cycle studio, sports hall, fitness class studio and soft play area.
The upgraded facilities at the centre are designed to meet the needs of the local community and support residents in achieving their health and wellbeing goals.
