Once complete Meridian One will deliver around 950 new homes for local people and the first homes are due to be ready in early 2023.

During this visit the Leader visited blocks A and E which compromises of a total of 118 council homes for local people.

Cllr Nesil Caliskan, Leader of Enfield Council, said:

“This is great news for Enfield and its residents, we are forging ahead with Meridian Water and making rapid progress to provide a range of housing for local residents.

“This is an important milestone and it was brilliant to see progress on site, particularly the 118 homes which will be retained by the Council, delivering on our promise of genuinely affordable homes for Edmonton residents and those across the borough.

I am looking forward to seeing more milestones reached as the construction progress quickly and to the first residents moving in.”

Matthew Taylor, Managing Director at Vistry Partnerships London Developments, said:

“This is a significant milestone in the development of Meridian One, where we are progressing at speed to deliver the first phase of this major regeneration project for Enfield Council.

Working closely with the Council, we’re providing high-quality new affordable homes alongside skills and training opportunities, meaning the benefits of the regeneration are felt across the local community.”

Meridian Water is Enfield Council’s flagship development that will provide 10,000 homes, 6,000 jobs and a wide range of community, leisure and commercial uses over the years to come.
