Like other local authorities and households across the country, the Council is facing significant funding pressures in the face of high inflation and the cost-of-living crisis. There are considerable pressures in many of our service areas, notably in temporary accommodation and in both Children’s and Adult Social Care.  Despite significant budget pressures we are delivering services that help and support our residents; and we’re continuing to create a better borough for the well-being of all our communities.

We need to prepare our budget in time for the financial year 2024/25 without yet knowing our financial settlement from Central Government. This means we are making plans based on the estimated savings we expect to need to make.

Who could participate

Those who live, work and study in the borough, as well as representatives from the voluntary and community sector, local businesses and any other organisations.
