Modern Slavery Strategy

Details

Modern slavery is a crime that strips its victims of their basic human rights and dignity. It does not discriminate and can occur irrespective of age, gender, nationality or economic circumstances. Modern slavery seeks to target and exploit those more vulnerable amongst us in our communities, although those vulnerabilities come in many different forms.

We asked for your views on our draft Modern Slavery Strategy (pdf) which laid out how we intend to tackle this important issue in the borough. This was co-produced with our partners, including survivors and residents. It built upon the previous Modern Slavery Strategy 2020-2023 and the successes of the Modern Slavery Team.

Who could participate

Those who work, study or live in the borough, as well as representatives of organisations from the statutory and voluntary sectors.

How the consultation was delivered

By completing either our standard or easy read questionnaire.

Closing date

7 November 2022.
