A Kinship Local Offer is a published guide from a council. It explains the support and services available to kinship carers in the local area. (Kinship carers are family members or friends who raise children who cannot live with their parents).
The Kinship Local Offer aims to:
- Make support clear and easy to find
- Help carers understand what help they can get
- Ensure support is fair and consistent across the area
We are building our own Kinship Local Offer and we want you to take a key role in helping us do this by sharing your views.
Who can share their views
We want to hear from kinship carers, including people who care for a child who cannot live with their parents. This may include arrangements such as:
- Special Guardianship Order (SGO)
- Adoption by relatives or friends
- Caring for someone else’s child with no formal order in place
- Child Arrangements Order (CAO) or Residence Order
- Family and Friends Foster Carer
- Private fostering
How you can share your views
By completing a questionnaire (link to external website). Please note, we do not ask for your personal details.
