Details
As part of our review on our existing Tenancy Strategy, we asked for your thoughts on a draft Strategy that we had developed.
The draft strategy set out how we intend to use our formal powers and influencing role to set high standards for tenancies in the Borough so that Enfield residents live as healthily, safely, and independently as possible. The draft detailed our support for lifetime tenancies for social housing tenants, explains our focus over the next 4 years and recommends good practice for private landlords and letting agents concerning the tenancy agreements they choose to use.
The main objectives of the draft Tenancy Strategy:
- Residents have a clear understanding of their tenancy
- Lifetime tenancies are the preferred option as to the best approach for addressing housing need in the borough
- Residents are able to stay in their homes for as long as it remains suitable for them
- If a tenancy ends, residents are supported to avoid homelessness
Who could participate
All registered providers, residents, businesses and private landlords.
How the consultation was delivered
By completing a questionnaire (easy read version was available).
