Draft Adult Social Care Charging Policy 2022-23

Details

Most adult social care services are means tested. This means that when someone is to receive a service, we will complete a financial assessment that will tell us the amount, if any, that will need to paid towards the cost of the services we provide.

The money which we receive through these charges helps to pay for social care services for some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

Our Charging Policy, which we update each year, explains how we will complete the financial assessment process. It makes clear which services are free (that is, not need a financial assessment) and which services are means tested (so do need a financial assessment).

We sent a letter (PDF) to social care users, and those who represent them, to ask for their views on the draft Adult Social Care Charging Policy 2022-23 (PDF).
