On Street Parking
The number of places where it is possible to park a vehicle on street, in Enfield, is limited and under increasing pressure as car ownership grows.
On-street parking, in approximately one-eighth of Enfield's built-up area, is currently managed by Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs).
Enfield Council has introduced a total of 15 CPZs to date. Enfield's major centre, Enfield Town, has extensive CPZ controls. The remaining CPZs (in Enfield Town, Arnos Grove, Bush Hill Park, Gordon Hill, Grange Park, Oakwood, Winchmore Hill, Palmers Green, Southgate and Southgate part time, Enfield College, North Middlesex Hospital, Wilson Street, Queens Avenue and Chase Farm Hospital) are concentrated around mainline rail and tube stations to manage the effects of commuter parking in their surrounding areas.
We can vary the location, size, restrictions and charges of any CPZ. This ensures that different parking needs (e.g. giving priority to residents or short-stay shoppers/ visitors) can be met, hence providing the greatest benefits for each area.
We have a yearly parking programme to manage Enfield's supply of parking space, safeguard the safety of all road users, maintain free flow of traffic and support the legitimate needs of residents, businesses and visitors in Enfield.
You can request amendments or improvements to existing CPZs, or the provision of new CPZs, by:
