Personalisation in Enfield – Putting People First

Published Tuesday 19th January 10

Tuesday 26th January 2010 10.00am till 4.00pm Community House, 311 Fore Street, Edmonton, N9 0PZ

A key conference is being held by Enfield Council to raise awareness of the Personalisation agenda, in particular the changes it will bring - more choice, flexibility and control.

The event is for all people currently receiving social care services, carers and Enfield residents.

On the day there will be a variety of stalls covering the basic stages of personalisation such as:

  •  What is personalisation?
  •  Prevention and promoting independence
  •  Can I get a personal budget?
  •  Planning my support
  •  Organising my budget and support
  •  Safeguarding
  •  Housing options

Staff and service users will be on hand to give information and answer questions.

Light refreshments will also be served throughout the day.

Cllr Edward Smith, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said "Personalisation enables our residents to shape the care services they receive. Instead of being passive recipients, they are able to actively choose the type of service that best fits their needs.

"This event is a good opportunity for all our residents, especially those who are currently in receipt of our services, to come along and find out more about the new agenda.

"It also is an opportunity to see the official launch of the new Personalisation DVD, which gives up to the minute information about what Personalisation means for you. You can also give feedback on the event, and all completed forms will be entered into a prize draw.

"So why not come along and find out more."
