Enfield Council’s adult social care is achieving consistently good outcomes for local people with promising prospects for further improvement.

This is the recent judgment by the Commission for Social Care Inspection, which has awarded the council’s service two stars for its overall performance.

These services have moved up from one star last year to two stars, out of a possible three.

Ray James, director for health and adult social care, said, “What is particularly pleasing is that we have scored good for all seven outcomes and retained promising for both parts of the capacity to improve judgment.”

Cllr Edward Smith, cabinet member for adult social care, said, “This independent judgment is very welcome. It shows that our services continue to improve and provide better outcomes for local people.

“Thanks to the dedication and determination of our front line staff I am convinced that we shall continue this trend moving our services to an excellent three star performance.”

Ray James, concluded, “Whilst this is fantastic news, there is still much we would all wish to do so that we can be judged as excellent, not just by external bodies but also, by the people we seek to serve here in Enfield. My thanks go to all our committed care and support staff - few people can deserve recognition more than those who work so hard to provide much needed help and support to the most vulnerable members of our community.”
